Igor Kosovskikh:

Education: Art school (Moscow); Mukhina Art college. All my works are oil on canvas. Each of them has taken a long period of time, multilayered, with numerous prescriptions and scumblings. Each layer is given time to dry out, that have a favourable effect on the further safety of a picture. All paintings are executed using technics of old masters. Etudes also take a long period of time (four and more sessions). My painting could be divided into some directions. "Witch theme" are in no way arisen imaginations on the subject of a Russian fairy tale. A still life, as an independent sort of painting. Puantelism (or divisionism as masters term this current). I was "infected" with it when I was seventeen years old, and I am still strongly attracted by works of Georges Seurat. It was then when I painted my first still life in dotted style. Later on I have executed several tens of still lifes, landscapes and even one portrait. At last, copies of old masters. My teacher has learned me to appreciate and understand old masters. I have done a great number of copies - made to order and to my own liking. Among interesting projects in which I took part, there were paintings of several cafes and restaurants.
