View all artworks of Bencini Gianfranco About the artist: The father of Gianfranco Bencini (Bencio), a well-known painter Natale Bencini, used to meet with his friends such as Annigoni, Carra, Conti, Viani and the poet Mario Luzzi in the Cafe of Red Coats in Florence. From a child Bencio was being tutored by those teachers. Later on he began exhibiting his paintings in some leading galleries. He was invited by the European Community, Universal Cultural Community of Artists, exhibited his works in New York Union Carbide Gallery in Park Avenue, as a result of 3° the Review of Monaco di Baviera.
Gianfranco Bencini, a whimsical painter, gives both a fantastic and simple sense to common elements: flowers, fruits, landscapes, objects. Being a postimpressionist, especially in the color and composition; he defied the academical scheme, giving a new idea of the construction of those natural elements. His love for the represented things was so strong, so sincere that it gave him an artistic courage to overcome the hard way of a nonconformist. Those fruits, those flowers, those landscapes had a new physical dimension: an unreal, somewhat metaphysical and at the same time a shining strange composition, as if the author had tried a symbiosis in those "things", a mysterious connection with its own character, a mixture of passion and irony, offering a charming subject, an expressive test that we can accept.
